Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X - Patrol Cars

When Tomica announced that they will come out with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X - UK Police last year, a lot of collectors were surprised with Tomica's move since most of their Police/Patrol Cars were in Japanese Police liveries.

For me, it was more of mixed emotions, I was also surprised but very excited to have one.
Moreover, there were discussions if a real car existed?

Here's what I found from another site:

Can anyone confirm if these photos are real or just an artist's work?

Here's Tomica's version of the Evo X UK Police Car:

So, has anyone seen a real Evo X UK or Japanese Patrol Car?

Playing on the 21st

It was another holiday for us last Friday(April 09, 2010) here in Manila and I found time to play around at my family's condo unit on the 21st floor of The Manansala Rockwell.

My photo-booth wasn't around so I experimented on natural lighting without filters or diffusers. Again, let me know your thoughts or suggestions for a better shoot.

Btw, I'm only using a regular point and shoot Sony Digicam.   =)

Experimental Shots at the 21st

After a very busy and very short (3-day) work week, due to our observance of the Holy Week, I found time to open and shoot my Tomica Limited GT-R vs Z set this morning. All cars are in Patrol Car livery and all have great details.

Since it's a holiday and I was at our 21st floor condo unit at Rockwell Center, I decided to do an experimental shoot using natural light with the Nestle and Phinma buildings as background. It was hard since I needed to check on different shooting angles to achieve realism.

I was only 75% happy with the outcome of the photos since the buildings were blurred but had a great time shooting them. Let me know your thoughts on this shoot.

1976 Toyota Corolla Levin SR

The 3rd Gen 1976 Toyota Corolla SR is my favorite among all the Corollas. It was the first car that was handed down to me by my father. I was in my 1st yr at the College of Architecture and Fine Arts, University of Santo Tomas (1990). I mastered all my driving skills with that car - parallel parking, backing-up and hanging on the inclined narrow streets of Manila.

I really had lots of fun with that car. I remember going out and going home late from a classmate's house and of course a few dates with girlfriends. Hehehe...

Now, all I have are fun and happy memories of that car. I miss it now. Good thing it was produced by Tomica. So the saying goes -"If you can't have one in your garage, why not have one on your display shelf!"

Toyota Land Cruiser - Patrol Cars

Here are comparative shots of the Tomica FJ40 (1960-1984) and the 200 Series (2008-present) Toyota Land Cruisers. Both are in Japanese Patrol Car liveries.

Thanks for viewing and I hope you enjoyed the photos.
