I found time today to shoot a line from one of my side collections, the 1959 Chevy Impalas. It's been a while since they were brought out from storage so they deserve a photo-shoot. This will also serve as my online database for this collection.

What did I open today?

One of my main lines in my die-cast car collection before I concentrated on Tomica is the '69 Dodge Charger. I used to collect this model in different brands and scales but laid low for a while. Here are 2 new additions to my collection.

2003 Dream Halloween Batmobile

CAAF or Children Affected by AIDS Foundation helps the kids meet their needs, advocate and educate people in their behalf and most importantly bring JOY and FUN into their lives. CAAF created the Dream Halloween event to gather funds and raise awareness about children with HIV and AIDS.

In 2003, Mattel released a limited edition HotWheels Batmobile. This Batmobile was only available to CAAF guests during its Dream Halloween event.

Obviously, I was not able to attend the event but I was lucky to get the Batmobile with the help of a friend in the USA. It is now very hard to find and considered as a very rare item for Batmobile collectors around the world.

In 2008, Mattel released another Dream Halloween Batmobile using the classic George Barris designed Batmobile. I'm hoping to get one soon.

What did I open today?

The Datsun 510 was from the series of the Nissan Bluebird sold from 1968-1974. It was offered outside the United States as the Datsun 1600. It was often referred to as the "poor man's BMW." It's engineering was inspired by contemporary European sedans, particularly the BMW 1600-2. The 510's European-influenced design was attributed to a young Datsun in-house designer, Teruo Uchino.

Here is my Datsun 510 by HotWheels. I got this last Sunday and just had the time to set it loose for a photo session today.

What did I open today?

I had this MOC(Mint on Card) HotWheels '69 Dodge Charger hidden in storage for around 3 yrs now. I got this from a trade abroad since this wasn't available locally. It's just a basic casting with regular rims but you can only avail this from a promo by Castrol and Auto Zone.

What did I open today?

This is a HotWheels Limited Edition collectors set of Batman vehicles. The set was available for only 3 days at the San Diego Comic Convention 2008 in San Diego.



The set features the Batgirl Cycle which can only be found in the set since it was not released in singles packaging. The set also contains the George Barris designed Batmobile from the original 1966 Batman TV Series. The Batcycle can also be found in the set with Robin's sidecar. All Batman vehicles are in 1/50 scale.

HotWheels Tokens

Last year, I assisted Richwell Trading, Philippine distributor of HotWheels and Matchbox, in organizing a diecast car exhibit. It was a mall tour event that ran for more than a month. It was very tiring during the setup of each mall event but it was all worth it.

They gave out tokens of appreciation to all collectors who participated in the event. It was a regular HotWheels car mounted on a customized base. I got one too but since I concentrated on collecting Tomica last year, I wasn't updated anymore with the new HotWheels release. I can't identify and relate to the car token that I got.

"Bee Like"


So I decided to remove the "Bee Like" car and replace it with my own piece from what's left of my HotWheels collection. I tried on 2 different castings, now I can't decide which one I like best. Haha!
