Relocating the Batcave - Part II

Marilyn's collection of Starbucks City Mugs are growing fast and she recently invaded my Batcave (Batman Collection Display Cabinet). They didn't only invade it, they took over the Batcave!?! =(

So it was finally time to make them their own display cabinet. We decided to make our own personal Starbucks! Well that's another story...

Going back to my Batcave, it was relocated to the second floor. I spent almost 2 days rearranging the pieces until I finalized the layout. It was truly a back-breaking experience.

Here are some photos during the relocation:
Robin: Holy !@#$% Batman, Marilyn's mugs have taken over the Batcave!
Batman: Don't worry Robin, the Batcomputer gave us the coordinates to a secret relocation site...we're movin' on up!

Batman: To the Batcave!!!

after almost 2 days of relocating...

This was the 2nd time I relocated the Batcave, hoping to relocate it again in a larger space.

Thanks for viewing! =)

Relocating the Batcave

Got 2 units of second hand glass display cabinets from Noel/Justice of DCPH last year. He was one of the victims of Typhoon Ondoy that flooded Metro Manila. More than half of the height of these cabinets were submerged in muddy water. When Noel decided to transfer to another house, he sold these 2 cabinets since it would be hard for him to transport them. I got them since November 2009 but I only had time to set them up yesterday (January 23, 2010).

2 units 2nd hand glass cabinets with aluminum frames at the left...

It was very hard to decide which theme in my collection will be displayed. I finally decided on relocating my Batcave (Assorted Batman Collection) into one of the four areas.

Here are photos during and after the set up:

checking and adjusting the levels of the shelves using a Mopari Acrylic Display unit and 12" Batman Statues...

after 2 hrs of experimenting display layouts, cleaning and wiping dusts off the pieces, I'M DONE!!!

It was very tiring but I was very happy with the outcome.

By the way, This is just 1 area out of the 4 vacant display areas. Another area will also contain more batman pieces, I still have more Batman action figures, statues and Batmobiles waiting to be opened and relocated from the old display cabinet.

Hope I can find the time again next week.

Two Bats!

While walking around the DCPH Pre-Xmas swap meet last Sunday, I was surprised to see these two 3-4" Batman statues on my friend Erick/Decker's table. I looked at the base and it says Corgi DC Comics. I never knew that Corgi produced Batman statues? Anyway, I asked around for info about this, all I got was that these statues came from a Batman Box Set by Corgi. Erick told me that he had three different Batman statues but the third one was sold out....too bad for me.

When I got home that night with the two Batman statues, I did a little research and found the actual photos of the Corgi Box Sets at Bat-Blog.

Here are the two Batman Statues from the swap meet:

*Assorted Batmobiles in my photos are by Corgi but not the ones from the 2008 Box Sets.

Hope to get the third missing Batman Statue from the series soon.

Batman: Black & White

This DC Direct Batman: Black & White statue was designed by Alex Ross and sculpted by Karen Palinko. The design represents Ross' unique vision of the caped crusader painted in monochromatic tones. This limited edition statue reflects the mood of Batman in the Batman: Black and White Vol. 1 and 2 TBPs, a collection of short stories by award-winning talents.

The statue measures approximately 7.5" tall x 5.5" wide x 3" deep. It features a logo-shaped base, and is packaged in a black & white box.
